A number of CARC members are interested in exploring microwave techniques for SSB/CW operation as well as in ATV activity. The interest covers bands from 1.3Hz to 10Ghz.with several members being involved in portable hill-top SSS/CW operation mainly concentrated on the 1.3 Ghz, 5.7Ghz and 10Ghz bands. The Club have also in conjunction with members from the Reigate club and the Whitton Club been amongst the leading teams contesting for the top spot in the 23cm open section of the VHF National Field Day. As an example of the level of commitment within the club, several members cooperated in producing a new high power 200W solid state PA with an integrated low noise preamp for mast-head mounting which was used to good effect in the 2005 contest.
